Come join us for our annual Open Board Meeting, where you get to sit in on one of the OM Exec board's weekly meetings. Check out how we work as a board and share your thoughts and ideas with us. This is especially a great opportunity for those of you that are considering running for a position on next year's board!

Last but not least, we have the Holi Committee. Carnival is just around the corner and that means so is Holi! We are trying to make this Holi better than ever, but cannot do so without your help!
The Holi Committee helps in packing the bags of color powder, tabling/chalking the week prior to Holi, and setting up on the day of.
With that you get FREE food, FREE shirt, and FREE ticket to Holi!!

Navratri Garba 2009! - Friday, October 2nd, 2009
Come celebrate Navratri with OM on October 2nd, 2009 at 7:30pm. The venue is the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Dithridge Street. We will have buses from the UC turnaround. We will have Indian appetizers and sweets from India Garden, as well as hours of raas, garba and bhangra! Admission is free for CMU students (please bring your ID's) and $5 for non-CMU students. Dandiayas will be available for either a $2 deposit or trading in your ID card. We will only accept exact change if you do choose to pay a deposit. Both deposit and ID card will be returned upon return of the dandiayas. Umang Patel will be DJ'ing the event! Don't miss this awesome Navratri Garba!
South Asian BBQ
Come meet the South Asian organizations on campus at our annual barbeque at the fence on Sunday August 23rd at 12:30. There will be information regarding board member that are open. Come and enjoy!

So, You think you can dance???
Show off your dance skills at a fun night of Garba, Bhangra and Raas. This is a free event, and we will provide free hot food as well. There's a $2 deposit for dandiyas, but you'll get this money back at the end of the day. Try to bring exact change.

Join OM in a panel discussion about Gandhi and his impression of Ahimsa. Discuss his ideals about the importance of nonviolence. What famous figures of present day display Ahimsa in today's society? How do they do it? Find out more. Discuss. Learn.

Sunday August 24th - SOUTH ASIAN BBQ at the Fence
Join OM, MayurSASA, Tanah and Chak De Bhangra for a South Asian lunch at the fence from 12:30 to 3. Come meet all of us and find out about the various South Asian organizations on campus.
